Long term sub- We have finally found a substitute for our classroom. Her name is Miss Mawhinney. She is a recent graduate from SBU and completed her student teaching at Willard Central. She has subbed in our room once before and has spent a day with us. I believe she will be a great fit to our room for the remainder of the year. Field Trip: We have the kindergarten field trip scheduled for May 3rd. We will be going to the zoo. Permission slips will be coming home as soon as all the steps on our side have been taken care of and approved. If you are thinking you would like to join us we would love to have you come as a chaperone. We will leave school at 9:00 to arrive at the zoo at 9:15. Chaperones will have a small group of students assigned to them to explore the zoo until 11:00. We will meet at the front of the zoo at 11:00, from here we will use the restroom and wash hands before walking as a class to the park in front of the zoo. We will eat sack lunches and then play at the park until 12:00. We will begin the week by discussing what an opinion is and we will do several activities where we share our opinion and why we have it. Math: Topic 13- shapes We will be starting a new unit in math on shapes. This unit covers comparing 2D shapes and 3D shapes and also using shapes to make new ones. For example taking 6 triangles to make a hexagon. DRIVE – IN MOVIE…Is tomorrow. Remember cars must be dropped off outside our classroom in the morning and then picked up sometime after school.
